The Cayman Islands government is offering a $50,000 reward for information relating to shots fired at police at Lakeside Condos earlier this month.
Police have arrested six people in relation to the 11 April shooting. All have been released on police bail.
Cayman Crime Stoppers announced Monday that a reward is being offered from government for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone for murder, robbery or other serious or gun-related crimes.
Cayman Crime Stoppers Chairman Malcolm Ellis is appealing to members of the public to call the Cayman Crime Stoppers tips line if they have any information regarding this incident, in which shots were fired at police officers chasing four men who bailed out of an SUV in Lakeside. No one was injured in the shooting.
“While individuals have been arrested and questioned with regards to this incident, the police need as much information as possible in order to solidly identify those responsible and secure a conviction,” said Mike Ellis, chairman of Cayman Crime Stoppers.
Callers need never disclose their identify and are callers are given a unique code with which they can use to make a claim.
