If ever you needed an excuse to get your hair and nails done, wear those outrageous platform shoes or splurge on a really cute new outfit, this weekend is it. The Cayman Islands Fashion Week is here and it’s all about glitz, glamour, couture and looking fabulous. The three day event opened on Thursday, but there is plenty of high fashion fun to come.
Show off your unique fashion sense and personal style at the MyStyle event. This is what the week is all about – celebrating fashion in all its forms. This is about far more than watching other people’s designs and stylings.
This is about living and breathing fashion: it’s about YOU getting dressed up and strutting your stuff and being part of the phenomenon that is fashion.
It takes place tonight Friday, 26 April at the new West Indies Wine Company – in the heart of ultra-chic Camana Bay.
Glamour and sophistication will be radiating from the party, with all those attending having put their best fashion foot forward. Go all out on this one night of the year – get the hair done, the make up expertly applied, slip into your most exquisite shoes and an outfit that will be the envy of everyone else there.
There is no better opportunity to dress up and show off!
Mingle with like-minded revellers who live, eat and breathe couture and collections as you enjoy wine and rum tastings, a cigar bar, canapes and desserts.
Sit pretty in the relaxed lounge areas, or give it your all on the dance floor. DJ Atomskillz will be in charge of the tunes tonight, so make sure those shoes are dancing shoes, ‘cause it’s going to be a party to remember.
The party kicks off at 8pm and tickets are $45, available at NKY Collections, Sand Angels, Arabus and Silhouette.
There’s more glitz, glamour and high fashion in store on Saturday at the Runway Fashion Gala. It will take place at the Island Air Hangar, close to the airport.
Miss Eva Marcille, who won the third cycle of America’s Next Top Model will be the beautiful host for the event, with our very own Janelle Muttoo as right hand woman and co-host.
Arrive early for cocktails before taking a seat for a fantastic fashion show.
A cast of models from top agencies in New York and across the Caribbean – including names such as Jaslene Gonzalez and Grace Bol – will be strutting down the runway, showcasing the latest collections from international, Caymanian and Caribbean trend-setting fashion designers.
Among the designers participating in the fashion show are Andrew Harris Jr, Christine Hanna, Reomero Bryuan, Varoin Marwah, Gabz&Gabz, Kristin Frazer and Anjalee.
That’s not all of course, there are plenty more – but you’ll have to be there to find out for yourself.
The show will be perfectly complemented by the vocal sytlings of Grammy Award winning songstress Chrisette Michele.
Attending fashionistas will receive loaded gift bags and, depending on the tickets you purchase, you’ll be able to mingle with designers, models and celebrities at the exclusive private after party.
The cocktail reception is at 7pm, fashion show begins at 8pm.
Tickets are $45 to $165 and available at NKY Collections, Sand Angels, Arabus and Silhouette.
