At its annual general meeting 27 March, professional group Cayman Society of Architects, Surveyors and Engineers ratified its constitution, approved a professional code of conduct and elected a new executive council for the year.
According to information provided by the group, the constitution sets out guidance for the administration of the association, promoting its professions and helping members keep up with best practices. The constitution also sets up a disciplinary committee to enforce the group’s new professional code of conduct. The code of conduct elaborates on 13 standards to be upheld by the society’s members, such as honesty and integrity, competence, and honest promotion of member services.
The 2013 officers are President Jacqueline Bleicher, past President Craig Nixon, Vice President Thomas Bleicher, Secretary Sam Small, Secretary Kevin Drysdale and Treasurer John Harvey. The three councilmen are Garth Arch, Paul Key and Martin Tedd.
The group has 74 members.
The society plans to hold a President’s Award ceremony 5 June at National Gallery of the Cayman Islands.
