Games, drama, team sports and music will all be a part of Frank Sound Church of God’s Community Fun Day Sunday, 26 May. The fair is being staged at the church grounds in honour of Month of the Child this month.
The event takes place from 12.30pm until with lots of free food drinks and activities such as bouncy castle, fire truck free food and drinks.
All children and teens, particularly those from Frank Sound and the North Side area are encouraged to attend. There is no charge, and parents can be assured that the activities are wholesome and drug-free.
Update Fusion Hall
The Multipurpose Youth Hall is not open at present because construction is still taking place.
According to the church secretary, windows and doors are all in place but work is still being carried out on the inside.
“It is currently being fitted out with sheetrock partition walls for offices, snack bar, sound booth and bathroom facilities, inside stairs and air condition units installed. We are praying that the centre will be ready for use by July of this year,” she said. Members of the congregation broke ground on the Fusion Hall July 2010. At the time, Pastor William Peguero shared the outlook, future, aims and even some setbacks that the multipurpose hall were encountering.
The aims of the multipurpose youth hall is to offer an after school programme to minister to youths as well as train them to hold their own church services, youth programmes and other functions. At that time the church only had resources for the construction of the foundation but had faith that God would provide for the completion of the building.
Sixteen acres of land nearby will incorporate the existing church building into one big facility for the youths and the new Frank Sound Church will be located further down the road.
