All Stars get slammed on Jamrock

A Cayman domino team recently competed in Jamaica.

Members of Island All Stars Domino Club made their way to Jamaica this month, where they participated in the Red Stripe Domino Tournament with other teams from the US and Jamaica.

The Cayman contingent, led by club president Derrick Elliott Senior, played three matches. They were narrowly defeated in the first match by two points, while the second match resulted in another defeat. The Cayman team broke through during the third match, emerging victorious by 38 points.

All Stars members, which included the likes of Marcia Myles and Oleta Elliott, received a plaque, certificate, medals, trophies and JA$10,000 for their efforts.

All Stars are the only team in the Cayman Islands who continually participate in overseas tournaments. The team is preparing for an additional tournament in September in England to compete against outfits from the US, Canada, Jamaica and Britain.

The club will also host a Ft. Lauderdale team in September and revisit them, as is annually done, in November during the Thanksgiving weekend.

Locally, All Stars will continue to participate in matches put on by the Cayman Islands Domino Association, as the club now sits second in the national league.
