Local TV channel Cayman 27 has signed a licensing agreement with CBS Studios International, the leading supplier of programming to the international television marketplace.
The agreement, the first of its kind in Cayman with CBS, includes exclusive rights to broadcast some of the most popular programming from the CBS catalogue in its free over-the-air channel.
The deal also marks the first time business owners in the Cayman Islands are able to reach their customers by advertising around this popular content in both standard definition and high definition.
Viewers will be able to enjoy a wide range of informative and educational programming, including The Talk, Dr. Phil, The Doctors, CBS Evening News and much more. Programmes will be phased in over the next few months to minimise disruption of current programming, with the full CBS complement airing by the end of September.
“We are extremely pleased to announce the addition of CBS News content to our lineup, including programmes like 60 Minutes and the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley,” April Cummings, Cayman 27 broadcast general manager, said. “This is an excellent complement to our own Cayman 27 News products and talk shows. For late night fans who enjoy a good laugh, The Late Show with David Letterman is also added to the Cayman 27 schedule.”
To accommodate the new roster of shows, Cayman 27’s line-up has been given a makeover, with a variety of changes to programming times.
Additionally, the Cayman 27 News airing at 10pm will move to 11pm to accommodate programming shifts when daylight savings ends on 3 November. Viewers can keep up to date with programming changes by visiting the Cayman 27 website.
