Tower Marketing has donated to Cayman’s Special Olympics community.
Elissa Costello of Tower Marketing recently presented a donation of $500 to Caymanian Special Olympic athlete, Andrew Smilley and Special Olympics volunteer, Penny McDowall, as part of Tower’s celebration for reaching the milestone of 500 Likes on social media network, Facebook.
“Tower is pleased to take this small opportunity to give back to such a great organisation,” Costello said. “It was a fun way to thank our supporters and pay it forward to the community.
“Special Olympics and its volunteers accomplish great things for Cayman’s special needs athletes and we hope this donation will make a difference.”
As a show of appreciation for its fans and supporters, the marketing company held a contest for its 500 Facebook followers.
Fans were encouraged to like a photo collage and nominate their favourite charity to receive a $500 donation.
Competition winner McDowall is a long-time volunteer and advocate for Special Olympics Cayman Islands. She thanked Tower and said the donation would be put to good use.
Smilley, a star swimmer, has been the face of local Special Olympics for years. Among his recent events are the Flowers One Mile Sea Swim and the Caledonian Classic swim meet.
