Savannah man robbed at gunpoint outside home

A man was robbed at gunpoint as he arrived at his home in Savannah during the predawn hours Friday.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said at 3.10am the man arrived at his home on Bougainvillea Way in Savannah. As he left his vehicle and approached his front door, he was suddenly confronted by two masked men, one of whom was in possession of what appeared to be a handgun. The other had a wrench, police said.

Police said the suspects threatened the man and then ran off from the scene with a small quantity of cash and a ring.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.

The suspects were both wearing hoodies and had their faces covered by cloth. One of the men was described as 6 feet tall.
