Students back in school

Summer is over and it is time to get back to the books.

Many of the Cayman Islands’ private and public students are heading back to class this week after a long summer break, with most students entering government public schools on Wednesday for the new school year.

The first day of school went smoothly Tuesday for first-time students entering reception class at Bodden Town Primary School.

Thirty-eight wee ones dressed smartly in school uniforms and, closely held by parents, listened as school principal June Elliott highlighted the curriculum for the school year.

She said the teachers and the school had planned several exciting and interesting activities for students.
