Four nabbed in Chisholm’s market heist

Four men were arrested late Monday afternoon following a robbery at Chisholm’s Supermarket in North Side.

About 4:25 p.m. Monday, police received a report that two men, both in possession of what appeared to be handguns, entered the small family-owned market. Police said they threatened a female member of staff before making off with cash and cigarettes.

No one was injured and no shots were fired.

A grey hatchback vehicle sped off from the store property immediately following the heist.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service helicopter was dispatched and crew members quickly spotted the grey hatchback driving on Frank Sound Road where it turned left toward East End. Police said the car stopped for a short time and some property was thrown into the bush. The car then continued speeding toward East End.

Patrol units stopped the vehicle on Sea View Road near the junction of High Rock Road. All four men inside the hatchback were arrested on suspicion of robbery at around 4:45 p.m. Monday.
