Congratulations on the award. Why were you selected to win this?

I have been the most booked DJ from the International/Caribbean Chapter this year. The award also recognizes my hard work, my music mixes and my representation of LMP throughout 2013.

Explain to anyone who doesn’t yet know what a DVJ does and why your approach is so successful?

My approach is so successful because of my versatility. Being bilingual and raised in the Caribbean gives me a huge advantage over most DJs today. Also not to forget being a video DJ [adds another element]. Hard work is another huge key to success. Most people call me the guy that never sleeps, which is exactly what I am, working 24/7 and finding ways to make myself better and exquisite.

How is the Cayman DJ scene these days?

The DJ scene in Cayman is not at its best nowadays. But the economy has a lot to reflect on it as well.

What were your highlights of 2013?

My highlights of this year were DJ-ing in major events among thousands in New York, opening up for some of the biggest festivals and Latin headliners in the world, including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Zion & Lennox, Plan B and La Nueva Escuala, just to name a few. I have also had the privilege of meeting and greeting these artists. Many years ago, it was a dream, now it’s just a part of my job. I also played at some of the worlds most popular nightclubs in New York. There was also an LMP float in this year’s Pirates Week parade. I have achieved more goals than I ever imagined and gained massive international exposure. For the fist time, my booking numbers have highly increased and I have now started receiving bookings from a massive number of states and cities in the U.S. I also was offered to be on air and recently started my own radio show on Vibe 98.9FM every Thursday from 6-10 p.m. The show is called “LMP Thursdays.”

What are your plans for 2014?

My plans are to continue to strongly represent my label and work my radio show to perfection. I will also be working with some promoters in Spain and organizing my first-ever European tour, which will include Switzerland. I will also be hosting some more events in Cayman as well. With that said, I will work as hard as I can and do my best to have an even more prosperous year in 2014. The sky is the limit, and I feel as if I am still far from there. This is just the beginning of my journey. Last and not least, I would like to thank my supporters and followers who have been by my side and supported me since day one. They contribute to a huge percent of my success and ambition.
