Samuels set for more props

Marlon Samuels upstaged the returning Chris Gayle after his all-round performance gave West Indies a 1-0 lead in the three-match Twenty20 International series against England in Barbados on Sunday.

West Indies won by 27 runs at Kensington Oval in Gayle’s first match after injury. The second game is on Tuesday at the same venue.

Samuels scored a stroke-filled unbeaten 69 as West Indies reached 170 for three and then restricted England to 143 for nine, as he took two wickets.

This victory warned rivals that West Indies are determined to retain their World T20 title in Bangladesh later in this month.
