Online donations open for infants in need

Donors can now donate online to help the Cayman Heart Fund buy medical equipment and meals for infants in need.

Local heart transplant recipient and Cayman Heart Fund supporter Robert Hamaty said donors can use his website to donate to the charity.

“Our website gives donors the chance to donate from anywhere in the world and we want to encourage those who can’t attend the event to at least donate online and also to spread the word to their families and friends.

“As you may know, I am a 18-year heart transplant recipient and this is a cause very close to my heart,” Mr. Hamaty said.
All proceeds will go towards a new cardiac probe for the children’s ward at the Cayman Islands Hospital and a children’s meals program. Cardiac probes are used to test small infants undergoing cardiac surgery.

The 5K Discovery Day walk/run takes place on Monday, May 19, starting at 7 a.m., at the Crescent in Camana Bay.
