Softball update

Female sluggers are making their playoff push.

The Cayman Islands Softball Association is heading towards the postseason in the women’s division of the 2014 fast-pitch league. The tentative schedule sees playoff games slated for June 21 from 6:15 p.m. at the Field of Dreams.

The Cayman Auto Diagnostic Clinic Stingers, who feature some new players this season like Belquis Bodden, are looking to grab a third straight national title. To do so, Stingers will have to get past Cayman National Bank Team Xtreme and the Caledonian Wildcats.

Over on the men’s side, the regular season is about a third of the way with Mark Chow and the Redimix Patriots looking to establish a fourth consecutive title run. Byron Bravo and the Jose’s Escape Pirates along with Donald Watler’s Latinos are aiming to knock off the reigning champs.
