Sharknados battle Hot Sauce Flames for regular season crown

The Sharknados are closing in on fresh kudos.

The squad takes on the Cayman Hot Sauce Flames in round 12 of the Fall 2014 Adult Inline League. The match, which takes place at Kings Sports Centre on Tuesday at 8 p.m., serves as the regular season finale. The Sharknados head into the game in first place with a 9-2 record while the Flames, the reigning champions, are second at 8-3.

Commanding much of the attention will be Sharknados star and Kings hockey director Evan Ellbogen. The Montreal native has all but wrapped up the scoring title, with a league-best 62 goals and 14 assists. Team mate Claude Plamondon has also played well, with 18 goals and 16 assists (good enough for third-most in the league). Dan O’Flaherty of the Sharknados sports a competition-best 25 assists.

Cayman Hot Sauce also have their fair share of offensive talent. Dennis Paschier has 25 goals, Mike Bowden boasts 15 goals and Andrew Bowden has 12 assists.

Aside from the Sharknados-Flames contest, the ITS Solar Bears challenge the Highrollers at 9 p.m. ITS, at 3-1-7, will end up as the third seed regardless of Tuesday’s outcome. The Highrollers, at 1-1-9, are destined for the fourth seed.
