Hedge Funds Care: For Cayman’s children

On Saturday evening, representatives of one of the Cayman Islands’ most important business sectors will host one of Cayman’s premier charity events, to raise funds to combat one of Cayman’s most serious social diseases.

Hedge Funds Care Cayman is holding its 10th annual “Open Your Heart for Children Benefit,” with all net proceeds going to local organizations that help prevent and treat child abuse and neglect.

Since 2005, Hedge Funds Care Cayman has raised more than US$2.1 million, and its signature benefit now raises as much as $250,000 per year. The local charity is part of a global group with branches in six U.S. regions, as well as in Canada, the U.K., Ireland and Hong Kong. While Cayman is the smallest of the Hedge Funds Care family, our chapter is one of the oldest, being the second one founded outside of the U.S.

Saturday’s gala at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, includes a silent auction (with items including jewelry, fine wines and sports memorabilia), dinner and entertainment, and a much-anticipated live auction. Presiding over the evening’s proceedings is none other than the Cayman Compass’s own Vicki Wheaton.

In other words, this is an event of the first class, put on by an organization of the first class, in the name of a cause that is most worthy. Pinnacle Media is proud to be a major sponsor of the event. We offer our congratulations to Hedge Funds Care, and also our best wishes to the people in attendance.

We trust they will not only have an enjoyable night out, but while doing so will assist some of the most vulnerable members of Cayman’s community.
