Streetastic's experience was too hot for plucky Devils

The annual Camana Bay Street Hockey Tournament was a great success over the weekend, with many teams showing admirable skills and technique.

The tournament began with the 6&Under and 10&Under divisions.

The Blazing Cheetahs and the Little Rascals worked their way through the round-robin and playoff rounds to meet in the finals in the younger division. At the final buzzer, the Blazing Cheetahs were the 6&Under champs.

In the 10 & Under division, Streetastic proved to be the team to beat as they dominated the preliminary rounds. However, they had not yet faced the Road Devils, the other undefeated team.

They battled hard in the final match up, but Streetastic’s greater experience showed and they took their second consecutive 10&Under championship.

The hockey community came together to benefit Acts of Random Kindness, a local charity that helps families in crisis, with support from Dart, Ernst and Young, Silver Wheaton and A.L. Thompson’s.

Players look forward not only to the street hockey, but also to helping kids in need.

It has been a tradition of this tournament that kids help less fortunate children. ARK has done notable work in the community by sending kids to camp, refurnishing homes for families in need, and aiding children who need life-sustaining medical attention.
