West Indies lost by four wickets to India on Friday and former batting legend Brian Lara was livid with their choice to bat first on the pacey track at Perth.
West Indies collapsed early and eventually folded for only 182. Lara criticized Windies captain Jason Holder for winning the toss and deciding to bat first. Indian pacers Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav made full use of the fast wicket to punish openers Chris Gayle and Dwayne Smith.
West Indies only have four points and are in fourth spot in the Pool B points table with just one game, against UAE, to play, on Friday. With South Africa (6 points, second spot), Pakistan (4 points, third spot) and Ireland (4 points, fifth spot) fighting it out for a place in the knockout stage, West Indies now run the risk of a group-stage exit.
