It took the final round of matches to finally decide the Division 1 League winners for 2015. A solid partnership of 105 runs between national captain Chris Palmer 54n.o and centurion Chad Hauptfleisch 139 dominated the proceedings on Greenies’ clinical march toward championship honors.
Final touches were applied by Alister Ifill who took five wickets. Greenies were 137 for four wickets before Captain Palmer joined Hauptfleisch and ensured that Greenies piled up the runs at an amazing rate, finishing on 280 runs for six wickets.
Greenies defeated SOL Tigers by 196 runs.
Over at the Smith Road Oval, the heavens opened and ruined any chances for defending champions By Rite in their match against Prison.
Greenies Too defeated Paramount by six wickets, while Mango Tree turned back a spirited challenge from Chillies, winning by four wickets.
New player on the field Claudia Dalling put in an excellent all-around performance as her team Islanders defeated Strikers in the League at John A Cumber Primary School. Strikers batted first and scored 112 runs with Beverly Watson Scott 29n.o and Dawn Hector 26. Dalling took two wickets and came back to be undefeated on 46 runs in the Islanders victory.
