The qualifying regatta was held last weekend to decide who will represent the Cayman Islands at the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships to be held in December in Langkawi, Malaysia.
A strong turnout of youth sailors saw a fiercely contested regatta with a number of sailors winning individual races. Pablo Bertran won the youth men division; Andres McDermot placed second and Jesse Jackson was third. Florence Allen won the youth ladies division, followed closely by Alena Rankine.
The elite sailors will travel to a number of international regattas to hone their skills and experience before heading to Malaysia in December with their coach, Raph Harvey.
