The Cayman Islands National Drug Council is looking for volunteers to assist in its latest survey of alcohol and drug abuse among prisoners in the islands.
The survey will be conducted between Sept. 7 and Sept. 11. Volunteers will be needed at 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. on those days to administer the survey at the prison facilities.
Volunteering does not require anyone to attend the prisons for the full week of the survey, however volunteers will have to attend a training session prior to the survey, the drug council advised.
Drug council information officer Luisa McLaughlin said the survey is done on a cyclical basis to examine the extent and patterns of drug use among inmates.
“Surveys such as these contribute to a better understanding of both current and changing rates of substance use,” Ms. McLaughlin said.
Anyone who wants to volunteer or otherwise support the survey is asked to call the drug council at 949-9000 or email [email protected]
