Cayman resident and prominent attorney Douglas Schofield has been writing novels for many years, but only on Tuesday was his hard work rewarded with the publication of his book “Time of Departure” by St. Martin’s Press, New York.
Mr. Schofield has had two previous books published, “Flight Risks” and “Succession,” but with limited distribution due to the relative anonymity of Miwk Publishing Ltd in the U.K., the publisher of those first two novels.
“Time of Departure” began as a screenplay that Mr. Schofield wrote 10 years ago, and it subsequently won first prize for its genre in Fade In magazine’s annual screenwriting competition.
The author has already completed his next novel, which is presently untitled, and plans to continue writing in the hope of becoming a success doing what he loves. “I’m really encouraged that I’ve been picked up by major publishing house, St. Martin’s Press,” said Mr. Schofield. “Of course, I’m hoping for the best.”
This latest book, “Time of Departure,” will be available for purchase in book stores, and online as an e-book through major retailers such as Amazon.com and iBooks.
