Rugby Union hosts U.S. college team

The Cayman Rugby Union will host a rugby team from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor this weekend and next.

The visitors arrive on Saturday and right off the plane will be heading to the South Sound ground to take part in the “Michigan 7’s,” a six team competition made up of three visiting teams, two Cayman representative teams, and one club selection. The first game will kick off at 3 p.m.

On March 5 the same group will take the field in the 15’s format and play against the Cayman Men’s National Team before returning to Michigan on March 6.

The visiting team will spend the week in George Town, hosted by Comfort Suites, and while here will undertake a project at the Pines Retirement Home, under the auspices of the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman.
