Squash player on her game at British Nationals

South Sound Squash Club

Claire Roscoe of the South Sound Squash Club and a member of the Cayman Islands Ladies Squash Team played in the women’s over-45 division of the British National Championships in Manchester, Feb. 8-14.

Unseeded in the tournament, she began with a 3-0 defeat of the 7/8 seed Alison Goy, followed by another 3-0 victory over 3/4 seed Isabelle Tyrell.

She then defeated second-seed Amanda Warren in four games to earn a spot in the final against fourth-seed Isabelle Tweedle.

Tweedle, a previous 40+ National champion, defeated Roscoe in straight games, but Roscoe said she surprised herself by how well she had competed. She is now getting ready for the Cayman Island Nationals in April at the South Sound Squash Club.
