A 63-year-old man has died after an accident Tuesday at a residential construction site on Nature’s Circle, off Beach Bay Road in Lower Valley, police reported.

A representative from concrete company C.I. Precast, listed on the construction site, said the man was working on the house at the time of the accident. The company would not say whether the man was working for C.I. or another company.

Emergency Medical Services Director Stephen Duval said 911 dispatched an ambulance just after noon Tuesday to the residential area in Bodden Town. Police say Workplace and Labour Safety representative are investigating.

Mr. Duval said the call was listed as an “industrial accident.”

He said the ambulance transported the man to the Cayman Islands Hospital.

  1. I have seen and continue to see infractions in worker safety every day. From a roofer not tied off 50 feet in the air, to a simple tiler not wearing safety glasses. There should be some legislation on this as there is in most civilized countries. There are are safety procedures followed by most companies, in doing their job to mitigate any injury, happening on their job site, wherever on the island. Sad to hear of this families loss.
