A wet fete at this time of the year just makes so much sense. You get to jump around in the summer heat for hours and not get sweaty; the logic is impossible to deny! Revelers can test this theory on Friday when the Xtreme Wet Fete comes to George Town, courtesy of Corona, the Pirates Week office and Partyrockers Entertainment. This is the second annual event of its kind, returning due to the popularity of its predecessor in 2015.
Keevon Douglas, CEO of Partyrockers Entertainment, wanted to bring a wet fete to Cayman, the likes of which has not been seen before, so this year the aim is to go “bigger, better, and wetter!”
Water, water everywhere
There will be three water trucks on location pumping out more than 18,000 gallons of water all night long, along with a slew of beach balls bouncing around to music, courtesy of Cayman’s top DJs. Magicians on the mixers include DJ Lin, Sound Revolution DVJ Carter and DJ VON HD. Patrons will be able to enjoy Soca music for most of the night, plus a mixture of all of their favorite hits.
The main streets of the island’s capital will be closed off to accommodate the event, turning downtown into a pedestrian area with water to spare. A large LED screen is just one of the features of the night, allowing DJs like DVJ Carter to video mix live for fans.
