Two injured in Brac crash

A male driver of a vehicle involved in a collision between two cars in Cayman Brac over the weekend was arrested following the crash, police said Tuesday.

The 52-year-old female driver of the other vehicle remained in hospital Tuesday, in serious condition.

The collision occurred on Southside Road in Cayman Brac around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said a Chevy Silverado and Suzuki Cultus, which were heading in opposite directions, collided near 512 Southside Road, and sustained extensive damage. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Both drivers were transported from the Brac to Grand Cayman by Cayman Airways and were taken to Health City Cayman Islands hospital. The Suzuki driver was trapped in her vehicle and had to be freed by fire officers.

Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call the Traffic Management Unit at 649-6254.
