Kensington Hellcats take down Burger King Panthers

Upsets and strong victories in week 4

In Week 4 of the Flow Cayman Islands Flag Football Premier League, the Kensington Hellcats defeated the Burger King Panthers 14-6 at Ed Bush field on July 16.

Panthers key players QB Glen Duran and Brendon Malice were not available to play.

Ed Pellot-Rosa, the Panthers’s back-up QB, failed to complete passes throughout the game. He was able to throw one touchdown, but did not get the extra point conversion.

The Hellcats defense made a few interceptions and sacked the rusher. QB Jacob “Frecko” Ebanks and key player Perry Levy contributed to the two touchdowns and two conversions that won the game.

In the Maples vs. Island Heritage Predators game, the Predators succeeded in breaking Maples’s four-game winning streak. Maples had a difficult time against defenders such as rookie Trevor Coleman. On offense, Predators receivers Avery Ebanks and Cueme Parker scored one touchdown each, but the team did not make the conversions. Maples QB Richard Campbell threw an interception which was caught by Avery Ebanks and returned for a touchdown. The final score was 18-0, Predators.

Ladies games

During the Monday Night Lights segment, the Guinness Lady Sharks played Anytime Fitness Wolverines, and the Maples Knights played PwC. Maples Knights won 32-14. The Lady Sharks vs. Wolverines game went into overtime and ended with a 0-0 score.

In light of the funeral for Michael ‘Mikey’ Gourzong on Saturday, July 23, the majority of the games were canceled, except for Maples Lynx vs. IMS Killa Bzzz at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Games will resume Monday, July 25, at the Annex field, starting at 6 p.m.
