Grand Old House in South Sound has been a busy place this season, so it’s time to give the lady a well-deserved rest. She will be closing on Sunday until Sept. 26, when she will re-open with gusto.
As ever, the staff and management have decided to close in style and give their loyal customers a chance to enjoy beverages and food at a reduced rate to carry them through the quiet period and withdrawal pangs.
Patrons and friends are encouraged to take advantage of the happy hour on Friday, where there will be DJ entertainment to take them through the evening.
Drink prices are $4 for beers, $5 for well drinks, $6 for house wine, and $8 for Prosecco, with 20 percent off the tapas menu. Choose from popular dishes such as ceviche, conch fritters, coconut shrimp, tempura lobster and chicken satay.
It all begins at 5 p.m. with a BOB FM radio DJ at the controls until 7 p.m. when DJ Rion takes over until 9 p.m. Although it’s called happy “hour,” there should probably be an “s” on the end of that, as the special prices are valid throughout the evening.
Operations Manager and Wine Director of Grand Old House, Luciano De Riso, said, “Our closing happy hour has become a tradition. We invite everyone to come out for an evening under the stars this Friday, and encourage them to rejoin us for our grand re-opening on Sept. 30 when we’ll have live music by 7 Miles Long, and of course, our customary specially priced drinks and food.”
