The Cayman Islands Tennis Club last weekend hosted the PwC Junior Circuit Tennis Tournament, the sixth and final round of the season with just the PwC invitational to go.
In round six, a record number of players took part, with 26 juniors playing over three divisions.
The Under-11 division had the largest draw of the tournament with 12 juniors. The No. 1 seed, Sebastian Bjuro, defeated Grace Beighton in the finals 6-3, 6-3. Gavin Sunley was third, and Robby Madden, a newcomer to the junior circuit, won the consolation draw.
The Under-13 division was also very competitive, with nine juniors competing. No. 1 seed Jake Booker played No. 2 seed Alex Claybourn in the finals. These two have been battling it out all year, and this time Alex defeated Jake, 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 in a tough match on Saturday. Oskar Bjuro, third place, defeated Willow Wilkinson.
In the Under-18 division, Jade Wilkinson played Jack Lomax in the finals. Jack won 6-2, 6-4.
The Tennis Federation thanked PwC for its continued support sponsoring these tournaments, and Rob Seward and Dale Avery of the Cayman Islands Tennis Club for hosting and organizing the tournament.
