Boca Juniors are setting the pace at the top of the DHL Sunday League table with their third win from the opening three games of the season.
Over the weekend, they overcame Harry’s FC 1-0 at the Annex, thanks to striker Giuseppe Coco’s sixth goal of the season, which propels him to the front of the pack chasing the Golden Boot award.
First win for King’s Head
King’s Head FC picked up their first win of the season with a comprehensive 6-1 victory against Fidel’s Old Boys at the Annex. King’s Head were two up at halftime through a brace of goals from midfielder James Cooper. After the break, they stretched their lead further through goals from Ben Holden, Padraig Brosnan, Baron Solomon and Dan Lowery. Old Boys did manage a consolation goal from captain Dan Haydon, but on the full-time whistle their day went from bad to worse when striker Olar Razvan was shown a red card for dissent.
The last game of the weekend was at Ed Bush, where Maples Revolution enjoyed a 2-0 victory against Luca FC thanks to a goal in each half. The deadlock was broken on 13 minutes thanks to a Jack Leland shot, and the points were made safe for the Revolution six minutes from time after striker Craig Smith fired home.
The other match, between OtisAir Wanderers and Bounty Hunters was postponed.
This weekend, it’s Bounty Hunters against Luca and OtisAir Wanderers host Maples at the Annex, while at Ed Bush it’s Old Boys versus Boca, and King’s Head play Harry’s.
