A team of gymnasts from Motions Unlimited placed second at the Gasparilla Fall Invitational on Oct. 22 and 23 in Lakeland, Florida.

Head coach Kelley Paz guided the “Super Six” girls Level 4 team to the second-place overall team victory, a press release states.

Tyler Woolaver posted top scores for the group, earning silver on bars and placing fifth overall in her age group. Team members Sarah Bush, Emmi Daykin, Jaiden Gilbert, Maddalena Polloni and Gabriella Royston took part in bars, beam, floor and vault events.

“The girls did really well for their first meet of the season and continue to enhance and build on to their skills with their ongoing training and conditioning in the gym,” Paz said.

The next event for these female gymnasts and the rest of the Motion’s competitive team will be the Holiday Festival on Dec. 3 at Motions Unlimited on Sparkys Drive. The international schedule resumes in 2017 with boys traveling to the West Point Open in New York and both the boys and girls heading to the Gasparilla Classic in St. Petersburg, Florida, in February.

Cayman is also expected to field a strong team for the Caribbean Gymnastics Championships in Barbados in April.
