Pirates of all ages invaded Cayman Brac over the weekend as part of the annual Pirates Week celebrations.
The pirates captured trucks, cars, buses and even some boats to make their way to places like La Esperanza Resort in Watering Place and Brac Heritage House in Northeast Bay to cause mayhem and entertain landlubbers.
At Brac Heritage House, pirates watched their manners and sat with the ladies to have tea of all flavors, such as lemongrass, soursop, cinnamon, bay leaf and mint, as well as an array of cakes and desserts.
Right in time for conch and whelk season, pirates were impressed with Della Dilbert’s conch soup, and Starrie Scott’s fry fish done up on the outside kitchen caboose was a winner.
The island’s children also got in on the act, engaging the pirates in some good old-time games.
Locals soon found the key to chasing the pirates away – the sounds of revving motorbikes with riders dressed in commanding headgear had them scrambling for their vessels bound for Grand Cayman, where Pirates Week festivities continue this coming weekend.
