Organizers announced Friday that the Academy’s Fourth Cayman Airways Youth Cup will be held June 25-30.
During the tournament, local football talent will take on international competition once again. This year, the tournament, which will focus on the under-13 age group, will feature eight international teams from North America and the region.
The tournament is hosted by local club Academy SC and will take place at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex, with one group stage being based in Cayman Brac.
Organizers say that the participating teams will be announced over the coming weeks.
Cayman Airways is continuing its support of local football talent as the tournament’s title sponsor.
“Academy thanks all sponsors who are supporting this year’s event, many of whom have been involved from the outset and continue to recognize the importance of sports initiatives for Caymanian youth.
“And to those who are involved for the first time this year, many thanks for becoming part of this great initiative,” said Virgil Seymour, Academy Sports Club technical director.
