Over last weekend a team from the Mustang Track club competed at the BAYTAF Track and Field Classic in Tampa, Florida, and came away with a collection of medals and personal best times.

Leading the way for the Mustangs was young Jaden Reid who brought home 4 medals in total, including winning bronze in the 13 year-old boys high jump and 200m finals, as well as silver in the boys 100m finals and gold in the 13-14 year-old boys 4x100m relay.

Following Jaden was CARIFTA 4x100m silver medalist Errol Smith, with bronze in the 14 year-old boys 100m and 200m finals, as well as anchoring the 13-14 yr. old boys 4x100m relay to gold.

Rochelle Moore was the most successful female athlete, taking gold in the 13 year-old girls high jump and silver in the same age category in the long jump.

Coach Tyrone Yen said the weekend was not a good one in terms of the weather, as the kids had to battle heavy winds and rain, as well as competing on a track that was in a deplorable state.

He said the young athletes showed determination as they competed, and he was very pleased with most of the performances.
