Carey Olsen has been named Offshore Law Firm of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2018 – having also won the award in 2017.

The back-to-back success marks the third time that the firm has been awarded this prestigious accolade by The Lawyer in the past five years.

In the offshore category, Carey Olsen faced competition from six other shortlisted firms and won the award for legal excellence, depth and breadth of expertise, commercial strength, market share, innovation and market-leading strategy.

The Lawyer Awards 2018, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on June 26, brought together more than 1,100 private practice lawyers and senior corporate counsel to celebrate excellence across the legal industry.

In the past 12 months the firm has increased its global footprint with the opening of Carey Olsen Bermuda – the firm’s ninth international office and fifth legal jurisdiction.

Walkers insolvency group among top firms in media shortlist

Walkers’ Global Insolvency & Dispute Resolution Group has been ranked as the 13th strongest global law firm for restructuring and insolvency by Global Restructuring Review (GRR) and enters the GRR 30 list for 2018.

Walkers is also the highest ranked offshore law firm on the list.

To arrive at its GRR 30 list, the daily information service for cross-border insolvency and restructuring news assigned a value to each firm’s top 10 cases, added the number of partners it has listed in their sister publication Who’s Who Legal: Restructuring & Insolvency 2018, and included a small weighting reflecting positions in the ranking last year.
