Shedden Road was closed Tuesday night and Wednesday morning after a man was struck by a car while fleeing from an altercation in which he sustained a head wound.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene on Shedden Road, in the vicinity of Martin Drive, around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday night, where it was reported that several men were involved in an altercation. One of the men is believed to have had a machete, police said.
The injured man remained in critical condition Wednesday. The car that struck him did not stop following the collision, police said.
A 46-year-old man, of George Town, turned himself in to police in connection with the incident around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The road reopened around 8:30 a.m.
