Department of Environment officers in Cayman Brac pulled this pile of rope and garbage out of the sea last week. The homemade float, on the left, was made from plastic bottles and tied to an object far below the water’s surface, according to a posting on the DoE’s Facebook page. As well as the plastic trash, the officers also recovered 500 feet of discarded rope.
