Two women were held up at gunpoint on Wednesday night in George Town.

The lone robber made off with an undisclosed sum of cash following the incident.

Police said it happened shortly after 9pm just west of the Shedden Road intersection with Liberty Lane.

The two women were outside a business when they were approached by a man brandishing a handgun.

Police said he demanded one of the women’s handbag.

He then fled on foot via Liberty Lane with the bag. It contained personal items and a quantity of cash.

Police said the man was described as tall, with a light complexion. He had brown eyes, and was wearing a black hoodie with the lower half of his face covered.

The suspect reportedly walked with a limp.
