The Cayman Islands Aquatic Sports Association is gearing up for its National Swimming Championships in the pool this week, after earlier this month holding the CIASA 5K open-water race, which attracted 18 swimmers.

Jake Bailey of Stingray Swim Club took first place in the 15 Feb. open-water event along Seven Mile Beach, crossing the finish line in 1:01:14. He was closely followed by teammate and top female Elana Sinclair, who clocked 1:01:45. Fellow Stingray member Kyra Rabess took third in 1:01:54.

CIASA’s national pool competition will take place 27 Feb.- 1 March at the Camana Bay Sports Complex.
