Island Heritage Insurance Company has pledged US$20,000 to two organisations that are working under greater pressure than ever amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Island Heritage will donate $10,000 to Meals on Wheels, which is seeing a rapidly growing waiting list of vulnerable people needing meals. In addition, the insurer will give $10,000 to the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, which provides safe temporary shelter for women and their children suffering from domestic abuse.
“Unfortunately, the lockdown has led to an increase in requests to shelter at-risk people,” Island Heritage said in a press release.
