The Ministry of Education has officially announced that all educational institutions will remain closed until the end of the school year.
Government officials had said earlier that it was likely this would be the case, but the official announcement was released on Thursday.
According to a ministry statement, the decision was approved by Cabinet.
The statement noted that the closures affect all early childhood care and education centres (nurseries, preschools and daycare), infant, primary and secondary schools, tutoring centres, technical and vocational institutions, colleges and universities.
Educational institutions have been closed since 16 March.

Since then, schools and colleges have been carrying out classes using online methods.
