Biennial Caribbean Occupational Therapy Conference to Be Hosted Virtually By the Cayman Islands Occupational Therapy Association

The Cayman Islands Occupational Therapy Association (CIOTA) is proud to be hosting the upcoming Biennial Caribbean Occupational Therapy Conference virtually on the 30th October 2021.  This virtual event will take place over one day with access to all presentations for attendees for 30 days post the event.  The CIOTA have worked hard to source quality evidence-based presentations and posters from local, regional and international occupational therapists and other allied healthcare professionals.  This is the first year in the conferences 30-year history that it will be hosted virtually.

The theme for the 2021 Conference is Inclusion Across the Lifespan and will focus on occupational therapy topics related to children through to the elderly addressing various areas function under the umbrella of inclusivity.

This conference theme aligns with the theme for World Occupational Therapy (OT) Day on the 27th of October 2021 of Belong. Be you. The World OT day theme promotes the power of diversity and inclusion, The World Federation of Occupational Therapist highlight the importance of these areas in working together to build community and resilience.

In previous years, the ACOT conference event has attracted attendees from across the Caribbean and North America, with  host countries having included Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados. The last time that the Cayman Islands hosted the conference was in 2013. As a non-profit organisation, the CIOTA conference planning committee are proud to be hosting on behalf on the Caribbean, highlighting the Cayman Islands to the regional and international community.

The 15th  Association of Caribbean Occupational Therapists Biennial Scientific Conference would not be possible without the local and regional  support of our community. Registration for the Conference is now open. The event is USD $100 until the 23rd October 2021 and tickets can be purchased until 29th October 2021 through Certificates of attendance will be issued which can be used towards your continuing education credits.
