An order imposing new vaccine requirements for most foreign national air travelers entering the US comes into effect Nov. 8. Unvaccinated visitors who are not American citizens will not be allowed entry into the US.

Children under 18 are exempt from the new vaccine requirements as are people with some medical issues.

Foreign air travelers will need to provide vaccination documentation from an “official source” and airlines must confirm the last dose was at least two weeks earlier than the travel date. The attestation form notes it is a crime for air travelers to lie about vaccination status.

International air travelers will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days prior to departure. Unvaccinated Americans and foreign nationals receiving exemptions will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within one day of departing.

  1. Pretty simple and clear cut rules that follow the science of how well protected you are if you are vaccinated. No additional testing requirements or secure vs non-secure vaccination status and clear, reasonable requirements for children both vaccinated and unvaccinated. Just a suggestion, CIG to consider.

  2. I strongly agree with the comments of Greglocher23L to keep the protocols simple. The issue of verifying proof of vaccinations makes us noncompetitve with other Caribbean islands. The CIG is clearly risk averse and afraid to make a mistake. It is time to drop the requirement of verification of vaccinations and to allow children to accompany their parents onto the island. As a long time property owner on the island from the USA, we urge the government to take some initiative. We want to return including our children and grandchildren.

  3. Sadly with 1,600 active cases I don’t think we need to worry about unvaccinated children bringing covid here; it already is here.

Time to allow unvaccinated children to travel with their vaccinated parents.
