Caymanian Ahmadi Muslims Celebrate Eid ul Fitr

His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community

On Monday, May 2nd 2022, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will celebrate the Islamic holiday Eid ul Fitr, which means “The celebration of breaking of the Fast”.

Eid ul Fitr commemorates the end of the month of Ramadhan, a month in which Muslims made extraordinary efforts to gain nearness to God by way of fasting and prayers. Thus, on Eid ul Fitr, Muslims celebrate their personal achievements of having offered sincere worship alongside bringing about a moral reformation within themselves.

Highlighting the importance and spirit of Eid, The Caliph of Islam, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community states:

“Today, if Ahmadi Muslims wish to celebrate Eid in the true sense, then where they seek to attain the blessings of true Eid by bringing about a moral reformation, they should also make every effort to free the world from injustices and should engage fervently in prayer to free the Muslim world from the disorder and troubles it is engulfed in.” (Eid-ul-Fitr Sermon, Baitul Futuh Mosque, London, 19 July 2015)

Ahmadi Muslims in the Cayman Islands will congregate on Monday morning for prayer, followed by a sermon delivered by Imam Sagher Bajwa, after which members of the community will enjoy a celebratory feast.
