Noting that the organisation will distribute approximately 1,900 bags for this year’s initiative, President Clara Smith said: “Our aim is to ease the process of getting ready for the return to school for our members and their families. We know that in the current environment this can be quite costly, and that families may struggle to purchase all items on return to school lists.”
“Recent increases in the cost of living mean this is even more likely to be the case this fall. We hope that this initiative will help to alleviate a small portion of the stress that our membership may be experiencing”, Ms Smith added.
The bags may be collected from the association’s office, at Unit F, Hospital Plaza (upstairs No. 1 Shoe Shop), Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays 10a.m. – 2p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursday 1p.m. – 5p.m.
