Four runners from the Cayman Islands joined the team of the Stay-Focused charity for last weekend’s New York Marathon.

The runners, who all work at various restaurants and hotels in Grand Cayman, were part of the charity partner team that took part in the marathon on Sunday, 5 Nov.

Enrico Carmassi from Agua, Erno Virag from Ragazzi, Luca Minasola from the Westin, and Matteo Manfio from LUCA did a “great job representing Stay-Focused” and “successfully crossed the finish line”, the charity’s founder Roger Muller said.

Stay-Focused brings young people with disabilities to the Cayman Islands each year to learn to dive or to build on their dive experiences. As part of the programmes, teens from Cayman are also taught how to dive.

“We enjoyed a wonderful weekend and will use all funds raised to help underwrite our programmes in Cayman next summer,” Muller said.
