Cayman swimmers Harper Barrowman, James Allison and Sierrah Broadbelt turned in top performances last month at the 2022 Christmas Open swim meet in Kingston, Jamaica.
The trio, who trains out of Seven Mile Swimmers under coach Darren Mew, not only secured personal best times but also set new meet records during the event.
Allison, 15, swam the open 400 metre freestyle to set a new PB and meet record. He touched the wall at 4:08.96, beating the previous record of 4:20.07.
His teammate Barrowman, 17, competed in the 800m free, where she downed the 2019 meet standard of 9:43.23 by 16.13 seconds when she clocked in at 9:27.10 for what also served as a PB.
She then swam the 400m free in 4:36.12, setting another meet record.
Barrowman won the 200m free, swimming 2:09.95, and then swam the 100m and 50m free, both in winning times of 59.60 and 27.70, respectively.
Broadbelt, 13, also turned in a PB and meet record. She swam the open 200m butterfly in a time of 2:25.20, crushing the previous mark of 2:34.52 set in 2018.
