“The new Cayman Rum cake represents the essence of everything Cayman and showcases the brand’s legacy, which started in The Cayman Islands almost 40 years ago,” said Marcus Simmonds, CEO of Tortuga International Holdings Ltd.

The new Cayman Rum Cake, the statement said, celebrates the rich history of the Tortuga brand and the beauty of the Cayman Islands.

“We are excited to partner with Tortuga Rum Company to offer this special edition package, which features unique illustrations of important Caymanian elements, like the stingray and sea turtle, Tortuga’s iconic truck, and the front façade of the original building,” Simmonds said.

The special edition rum cake is available in 19 stores across Grand Cayman, including at duty free stores, the airport and the cruise-ship terminal.

The new design, the statement said, features a rustic wood effect that depicts “the resilience of the Caymanian people, along with a special selection seal that authenticates the core ingredient (RUM) in this delectable rum cake”.

“The new Cayman Rum cake celebrates the story of the Tortuga brand founded right here in The Cayman Islands, and we are excited to offer it in this special edition package,” said Eugene Nolan, CEO of Tortuga Rum Co. Ltd.

Nolan, in a recent interview with the Cayman Compass, shared that the company is building on the foundation laid by owners Robert and Carlene Hamaty.

The company will be unveiling a new ‘experience-led’ tourist attraction at Tortuga’s North Sound Road visitor’s centre soon, at which tourists and local alike will able to see the cake-production process from when they are made from scratch to when they are packaged for sale.
