Two men, both aged 31, were arrested Tuesday, 25 April, on suspicion of burglary in relation to a recent crime spree in Cayman Brac.
After the arrests, officers conducted a search of the premises where the men were located, and recovered items suspected to have been stolen during one of the burglaries.
The men are in custody and were set to be transported to Grand Cayman on Wednesday, a police press release said.
The first incident took place on Friday morning, when burglars broke into a business on West End Road East and stole cash and food before making away with a Ford F-150 truck.
They smashed a window to gain access and left the premises in disarray, a police press release on Tuesday said. Officers responded to a report of the incident at 6:15am.
Just before 11:45am on the same day, a second report of a burglary – this time at a church on West End Road West – was made to Cayman Brac Police Station.
There, two louvers were removed from a window shutter.
On Tuesday, burglars raided for a second time the West End Road East business and a break-in also took place at a commercial property on the same road.
A rear door was forced open, police said, but nothing was reported stolen.
The Air Operations Unit travelled to the island on Saturday to conduct an aerial search of the island and located the stolen truck.
